So it’s no secret that I chopped all my hair off about 4 weeks ago and yes, I had  a MO-MENT when I saw all of my hair on the floor! I literally cried in the bathroom! I coudn’t beleive I had NO hair! I mean my hair was short before but never that short! I have ALWAYS had a perm, a weave, a cute wig…something big and layered would describe my hair! But for the first time, I looked in the mirror and I didn’t see anything but my face staring back at me. There was no 16 inch weave or curly wig I could “hide” behind…just me. I know it may sound weird to some, but at that very moment I realized just how much I had relied on hair to help me feel pretty. If my hair wasnt “done”, I wasnt going anywhere, if it wasnt straight I was throwing a cap over it or running out to grab some hair LOL! The first night after cutting it, I kept it wrapped up and went straight to bed. As the days went by I began to embrace just how beautiful I was; not only inside but out as well. I do not mean that in a conceited way by far; I was just able to walk out my house and be comfortable with every last bit of me. I didn’t care what anyone had to say because I LOVED it! I didn’t have to wear a shower cap in the shower! I thought about all of the swimming pools I could get in, how many rainstorms I could get caught in without an umbrella!!!  I hid behind NOTHING, what you saw was what you got…didn’t like it? OH WELL…I DID! LOL! It was such a liberating experience!!

I had to share this feeling with other women! I want everyone to embrace their natural beauty…and not just women with natural hair…women everywhere…but I decided to start small..I  reached out to my friends first LOL 🙂

So I came up with the idea to have a BBQ celebrating natural hair and embracing our natural beauty! We swapped products, made our own hot oil treatments, glycerin repleninshing sprays, Charnele had a fight with my friend Monet’s flaxseed gel (you’ll know when you see the pics LOL) and of course…we ate!

You’re beautiful/handsome (<–for my male readers LOL ;)) and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! I don’t care if I’ve never seen you…God created you and I KNOW he doesn’t create junk! You are fearfully and wonderfully made! You are his masterpiece! Marinate on Psalm 139 if you dont believe me 😉

Love Ya,

So I’ve always had a passion for inspiring women and girls. I find joy in motivating and inspiring and in turn I become motivated and inspired. So I decided to start an all women’s support group entitled W.E.L.L–Women Excelling Loving Learning. I am so excited about where God is taking this group. To expand the group, I decided to start a group on Facebook and we are up to 173 members in less than 1 month and we’re growing strong! We hosted our first vision board party May 14th and it was awesome! What’s a vision/prayer board you ask? A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life. What is the point? Simply put, we sometimes tend to be a very busy and constantly bombarded by distractions. Making use of vision boards serves several purposes, some of which include helping you to:

  • Identify your vision and give it clarity.
  • Reinforce your daily affirmations.
  • Keep your attention on your intentions

So I wanted to share with you the pictures from our first event! Now I know your wondering, “Peaches, why the delay with the pictures?” Blame her:

LOL!!!!!! Don’t let the fresh face fool you! Don’t EVER have her take pictures for your event!! HAHAHAHA!!! Just kidding Jacelyn….Peaches loves you!!!! 🙂
