Mark 11:23

The Message (MSG)

22-25Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’—no shuffling or shilly-shallying—and it’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.”

As I prepare for what just might be the largest and most exciting transition of my life…I opened this book to see the title “The Doubting Tongue”. Leaving the only state I’ve EVAH known to venture into a new life can be scary! But if it’s one thing I’ve learned over the years it’s whenever you choose to completely follow God…there can be NO ROOM for doubt. Words of doubt come out of an unbelieving heart and I choose to believe God. Whenever you doubt, you allow room for fear, anxiety and discouragement to slowly creep in and keep you from where God truly wants you to be.

If we ever hope to tame a doubting tongue, we must become familiar with the promises of God. Now of course simply knowing the promises of God is not enough; we MUST become proficient at DECLARING them. Remember, even lil ‘d (the devil) knew the scripture and is able to misquote scripture to fit his “mission”. God’s word and His promises for you have to become so much a part of your heart that you know the difference between lil ‘d’s voice, your voice and God’s voice; and if you’re like me…I only enjoy the sound of God’s voice! 😉

If your sick or need healing God promises He “…will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security” {Jeremiah 33:6}

If you need guidance God promises to “…lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. There are the things I will do; I will not forsake them” {Isaiah 42:16}

If you wonder about your future, God says, “I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” My favorite! {Jeremiah 29:11}

Feel like your a loser? Don’t! God promises victory for you!! He says, “You, dear children, are from God and Have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” {1 John 4:4}

Still have a little doubt? God promises to bless you if you trust Him…and remember, He is not like man, He can not lie! Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. {Jeremiah 17:7}

Feeling unloved? Never have doubt regarding God’s love for you! God says, “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed” {Isaiah 54:10}

What are some things you find yourself speaking about in a doubtful way? Is it fear of pursuing a career or business venture? Feeling doubtful about restoring a broken relationship? Do you have doubts about getting healthier? Remember God’s children are to live by faith in God. Our doubts can deter our destiny…it is so important to keep our eyes on God and hearts open to holding onto His promises.

Declare today that “According to Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. You tell me in Deuteronomy 31:6 to be strong and courageous; to not be afraid or terrified because you are with me. You promise to never leave or forsake me and because you said it Lord…I believe it! From this day forward I will declare my faith rather than discuss my doubts.”

Love ya!
