STOP FLIRTING WITH YOUR PAST
I loved this picture when I saw it. I thought it was perfect way to illustrate what I wanted to say in today’s post. Our futures, which are bright and full of color are ahead of us…yet some of us are still checking our side mirrors to get a glimpse of where we left. Inside some still find themselves comfortable in their past. Holding on to the feeling of acceptance and being “apart of something”–whether it was good or bad for them…they were comfortable, they knew what to expect, their “friends” were supportive, the world seemed to line up with their every desire. Some people find themselves more at peace in a place in time where they felt in control. Our past is exactly that…our past. We experienced situations and people that many of us would like to forget-which most of us do. But there are some of us that have proclaimed to have moved on from our past and yet we still flirt with it. Still hang out/chat with old friends, still hang out/visit old places, we haven’t really changed the way we walk, talk or think; we’ve just changed the way we appear.
When we follow God’s will for our lives and not what the “world” says we should do, not only is our outward appearance changed, but He renews our minds and changes the way we think.
The Bible tells us:
Romans 12:2
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
and my favorite version (The Message) says:
Romans 12:2
Place Your Life Before God
WHAT’S YOUR VISION?
So I’ve always had a passion for inspiring women and girls. I find joy in motivating and inspiring and in turn I become motivated and inspired. So I decided to start an all women’s support group entitled W.E.L.L–Women Excelling Loving Learning. I am so excited about where God is taking this group. To expand the group, I decided to start a group on Facebook and we are up to 173 members in less than 1 month and we’re growing strong! We hosted our first vision board party May 14th and it was awesome! What’s a vision/prayer board you ask? A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life. What is the point? Simply put, we sometimes tend to be a very busy and constantly bombarded by distractions. Making use of vision boards serves several purposes, some of which include helping you to:
- Identify your vision and give it clarity.
- Reinforce your daily affirmations.
- Keep your attention on your intentions

DOES YOUR NECK HURT?
I wanted this picture ^ for the neck brace…but the WHOLE picture made me laugh…so I figured I’d use the picture to make you smile lol! Okay…on to business! Check out what Edna Ferber has to say about looking back…
Living the past is a dull and lonely business; looking back strains the neck muscles, causing you to bump into people not going your way.

…and wondering what could’ve, should’ve, would’ve been and embrace today with an I can, I shall and I will.
